You will need four 2 x 4s 4 feet long to build a climbing wall’s posts. Secure these on the bottom part. Ensure these are joined to the outer and inner portion of the boards.

Step 4

Saw a few more two by fours and put angles on them. Secure these to the boxes’ top and bottom. Install the hardware and the climbing wall is finished.

Using Building Plans

You can design the climbing wall on your own. However you can also download plans off the Internet. You can use these as templates when you make the climbing walls.

Picking the Right Materials

Only use 2 x 4s or 2 x 6s to make the walls. Nails and screws come in various forms, but the most suitable are three inch nails or screws.

Tips and Warnings

Make sure you have all the tools ready before you begin construction. This will accelerate the working process. In terms of design, the choice is up to you. For kids, you should choose bright colors. This will make it easier to find the handles so they don’t fall off.

There are many types of climbing holds and fall mats available. Make sure the mat is made of foam or other similar material. The cover must also be slip resistant.

You can fortify the unit by keeping the hammer and drill straight when you use them. This is the best way to make sure the hardware is as straight as possible.

Before you begin to build a climbing wall, make sure that the height is suitable for kids. This will vary on a case to case basis, so make sure you get the dimensions right.
