Step 1
Clear the work area and position the chair horizontally. Loosen the clips on the wheeled base. Some chairs make use of nuts and bolts instead of clips. In that case, use the wrench. Remove any screws.
Step 2
Look at the chair column?s insides and make sure nothing else is damaged. If the pads or other components are tattered, replace them now.
Step 3
To repair office chairs and the gas cylinder, begin by putting the pipe wrench on the cylinder. Twist and pull the wrench. Keep doing this until the cylinder is removed. Usually you can turn the wrench in any direction.
Step 4
Install the new gas cylinder with the tapered part going into the column. You either rotate the taper or press a ?release? button to fit it in. Examine the chair to see how it works.
Step 5
Reconnect the chair?s base on the column. Test the chair by making adjustments to the height.
Notes on the Gas Cylinder
The gas cylinder model you choose must be the exact match for your chair. If you are going to repair office chairs, follow the gas cylinder?s instructions. It may have additional steps and procedures unique to the product. When dismantling the chair, keep all the nuts and bolts in one location.

Step 3

Tips and Warnings
Do not disassemble the chair if you don?t think you can put it back together again. You should never force a screwdriver or wrench that isn?t fit for the nuts / screws.
