How to Fix Error 80004005

they try to surf the Internet is the error 80004005. There are several reasons why the error occurred. It can be caused by troubles in theVBScript. The error can also be caused by connectivity problem. In order to solve this problem, below are some of the procedures that you can follow.

If the error occurred due to problems in the VBScript, the first step to do is to check if you are using the administrative account. Afterwards, you need to be sure that there are no restrictions with regards to using the account. If you are using the administrative account, then you should check the settings of your firewall. Turn the firewall setting off and try to surf the Internet.
Another cause of this error is wrong information. If the error occurred after you entered information like social security number or phone number, refresh the page and enter the data again. You can enter the numbers as straight numbers instead of string numbers.
The error code can occur while you are accessing the Windows Live Instant Messenger. To resolve the problem, the first step is to identify the version of the IM that you are using. If you do not have the latest version, you need to update it since this can be the cause of the problem. If you are using the latest version and you still encounter the problem, you need to eliminate all the cache files related to the program.
To remove the cache files if your computer uses Windows 2000 or Windows XP, select the Start Menu and choose Run. When a window appears, type cmd. Select OK to launch the command window. On the other hand, if your computer uses Windows ME or Windows 98, choose the Start Menu and select Run. Type the word command and press enter. When the command prompt appears, type cd\ and press enter. Type this code, cd %appdata%\microsoft and press enter. Type cd ?msn messenger.? Press enter then type del /s listcache.dat.
After following the steps, close the command prompt window. Shut down the computer and wait for three to five minutes. Turn the computer on. Launch the Internet browser and try to open the Windows Live Instant Messenger in your computer. If the problem persists, it is best that you download and install an effective registry cleaner like the Errorsmart to fix the error code.
